People having an out of hospital, “Sudden Cardiac Arrest” event will die from it often within minutes unless rapid intervention in the form of CPR followed by the application of an AED is administered.
You can help someone in sudden cardiac arrest survive through 3 steps.
1. Dial 911 immediately.
2. Push hard and fast on the center of the chest.
3. Apply an “Automated External Defibrillator” more commonly known as an AED.
The Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad offers a free “Hands Only CPR” and AED class every month. The next available class takes place on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 and it is free!
