VB EMS Ambulance On Scene Working Fire

With the implementation of the new Virginia Beach Communications-Computer Aided Dispatch system, the VA Beach Department of EMS & VA Beach Fire Department decided to add an ambulance to the initial fire dispatch assignment to all structure fires in Virginia Beach. This change took place on February 27th, 2018.

Previously, an ambulance was dispatched to structure fires only when fire units arrived on scene and confirmed the incident as a working fire. The addition of an ambulance to the initial dispatch of a reported structure fire will save valuable time should Emergency Medical Services be required on the scene of a fire
