2012 National Fire Prevention Week just came to a close and many families with new pets revised their escape plans to include their pets.

The Volunteer Rescue Squads of Virginia Beach would like to remind people with pets that they can attach special pet rescue stickers to their windows and doors alerting first responders that a pet is in the house.

The pet stickers also serve to remind EMS responders to be alert when entering a home for a medical emergency that a pet is present.
