On January 10th, 2019, 45 men and women started their journey to earning a certification as VA Beach EMS Nationally Registered EMTs.
So why volunteer with Virginia Beach EMS?
If you volunteer with Virginia Beach EMS and take the EMT training through the VA Beach Basic Life Support Academy, the student does not pay tuition. The EMT course is free!
You can take the same training at a local community college where you pay tuition.
Upon successfully completing the sixteen week combined online/evening workshop & short internship program, you are required to volunteer with the Rescue Squads of Virginia Beach for 12 months responding to medical and trauma emergencies, helping to save lives.
Many volunteers stay on past the 12 month contract.
Interested in Volunteering with Virginia Beach EMS and taking the free training?
It is exciting and rewarding. Many volunteers go on to find jobs as first responders and or enter medical school.
The next free VA Beach EMT course will start in early March, followed by a class in May.
